Important information about insurance, billing, and your protections for emergency care

Our Physicians may not participate in every health plan’s network. If you received emergency care from our Physicians, the federal No Surprises Act generally limits your financial responsibility to your in-network cost-sharing amount (copay, coinsurance, or deductible), even if our Physicians are out of network.

What this means for you

  • If you were treated for an emergency, your cost-sharing — copay, coinsurance, or deductible — will be the same as if our Physicians were in network.
  • You should not be balanced billed for covered emergency services protected by the No Surprises Act.
  • We will submit your claim to your insurer. If there is a disagreement over payment, federal law provides a process for our group and your insurer to resolve it without involving you.

What to watch for

  • You may receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurer and/or a bill from our group. An EOB is not a bill — it explains how your insurer processed your care.
  • If a bill you receive looks higher than expected, please contact us immediately.

If you receive a bill that confuses you, contact us

  1. Do not pay until we review it. Call Patient Services at 855-687-0618 or email [email protected].
  2. Send us a copy. Email a photo or PDF of the bill or EOB to [email protected], or mail it to
4535 Dressler Road NW, Canton, Ohio 44718.
  3. We will take it from there. We will review your bill and, if appropriate, initiate the formal dispute and resolution process under the No Surprises Act.

No. Emergency Physicians often contract separately from hospitals. As a result, our Physicians’ participation with your insurer may differ from the hospital’s participation. Regardless of network status, our Physicians provide the same clinical care to every patient.
